Steve Carroll was an original member of The Meat and Potatoes Company in New York City, where he appeared in a wide variety of Off-Broadway productions ranging from the plays of William Shakespeare and Jean Cocteau to William Inge and Jean Genet. Since 1977, he has worked extensively in theatre, commercials, films and daytime dramas. You may have spotted him as Dr. Matt Rawlins on ABC-TV's One Life To Live.
In 2011, Steve played a featured role in a new film called “Beautiful Noise,” which received an unprecedented six sold out screenings at the Sarasota Film Festival. The film is now touring the festival circuit as its producers seek national distribution.
In 1998, Steve was called to China to portray U.S. State Department head John Carter Vincent in a 30-part series for Chinese television called A War of China's Fate. The series examined the birth of The People’s Republic, which aired in 1999 and became a national sensation in China. It was there, during a break in shooting, the genesis for came at the suggestion of fellow actor Bob Brown, who performs his own one-man show on the life of Benedict Arnold.
In June of 2001 Steve first produced and performed , at New Jersey Repertory Company. It earned the endorsement of Reeve Lindbergh, president of The Charles A. and Anne Morrow Lindbergh Foundation, who saw a command performance of the play the following year in Garden City, N.Y. at the 75th anniversary celebration of her father's famous flight to Paris. Since then, he has toured the show to professional theaters, colleges, high schools, historical societies, senior centers, museums, libraries, country clubs, and aviation groups all around the country. |
