HISTORIAN - Richard F. Miller

  • HUNTERDON SETTLEMENT PATTERN SERIES LECTURE: THE IRISH IN NORTH HUNTERDON
    Just in time for Saint Patrick's Day, join Red Mill Museum Trustee Richard Miller for a talk on the migration of Irish Settlers into the town and area of Clinton. Concluding Richard’s talk, Robert Sheridan, President of the G.W. Taylor Civil War Round Table, will present on THREE IMPORTANT IRISH AMERICAN CIVIL WAR GENERALS: Corcoran, Meagher (Marr), and Sheridan.

Richard F. Miller grew up in Hunterdon County and is a graduate of North Hunterdon High School.  He received his Masters of Arts Degree in Social Science from Trenton State College.  Richard taught Social Sciences for 30 years at South Hunterdon Regional High School where he served as the both the Chair and Supervisor of the Humanities Department.  He has served as a Member of the Board of Trustees of the Red Mill Museum since 1998 and as the President of the Board from 2007 through 2010.  He was Mayor of the Town of Clinton in 2011 and currently serves as a member of the NJ Historic Preservation Commission and the Collections & Exhibits Committee America On Wheels Museum Allentown, PA.
