LECTURER - Paul Muir
- HISTORY OF INDUSTRIAL ARCHEOLOGY IN HUNTERDON COUNTY
Lecture by Paul Muir
Red Mill Museum, 56 Main Street, Clinton.
July 26, 2014
Paul Muir has had a lifelong interest in history from the earliest years of regularly participating in events at the Miller Cory House in Westfield, New Jersey. Paul continued to gain respect for the importance of history growing up in, and working for, a family business that spanned four generations. Paul attended Bucknell University where he graduated early with a BSBA. Paul taught in the Management Department after graduating in addition to writing published case studies in Organizational Management, one of which was used in the Wharton MBA program. Through a constant love of history combined with a passion for the growth of small business Paul has developed a special interest in the history of local economies and their impact around the surrounding region.
Paul found the perfect place to explore his interests in industrial archaeology at the Red Mill Museum Village in Clinton. The Red Mill presents the perfect opportunity to study the impacts of industrial growth upon the local society and the changes that developed within the community. Paul eventually joined the Board of Trustees and has served as its Board President since January of 2012, in addition to serving as interim Director for the first quarter of 2012.
Paul also serves as Mayor of Bethlehem Township where he resides with his wife, Dawn who serves as President of the PTA, along with their two children Morgan 8, and Paul Jr. 4. Paul continues the family business tradition and works to support the Hunterdon County economy by operating a pre-owned auto sales business in Bethlehem Township along with a metals recycling company. |
