Charles Riddle is a Hunterdon County native and graduate of North Hunterdon High School. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from Saint Francis College, Loretto, Pa.; a Master of Arts in History from the University of Notre Dame, and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Trenton State College (now the College of NJ). He spent his 38 year teaching career as a 7th and 8th grade Social Studies Teacher in the Bethlehem Township (NJ) School District. In 1984, he was honored as the New Jersey Middle School Social Studies Teacher of the Year. In 2004, he was named the Hoppock Middle School Teacher of the Year. He’s written numerous articles including: “COLONIAL AND REVOLUTIONARY BETHLEHEM TOWNSHIP”; five articles which appeared in the Hunterdon County Democrat BICENTENNIAL BOOKLET and two articles which were published in The Alamo Journal . He has given a number of talks about the people and events in Colonial and Revolutionary Northern Hunterdon County. In 2012, he was awarded a "Guardian of History" by the Red Mill Museum Village, Clinton, NJ. |
