Carol Weisenbacher is a lifelong artist, crafter and instructor. She is a graduate of the College of St. Elizabeth (BA)and Kean University (MA) with teaching credentials from Centenary College. After pursuing a career with Chubb and Son in New Jersey and London, she lived in the U.K., Norway and Belgium, taking many courses in art and craft and volunteering with various school and church activities. She has designed educational programs for blossoming artists of all ages . Not least among these programs was the founding of the Art a la Carte program at St. John’s International School in Belgium, providing an art history and fine art program for 550 students in grades k-5. She was the Intern Coordinator for Focus Career Services and chair of the Family Support Program at St. Johns, a multi-national team which supported a full range of family services for a K-13 school
Since moving to Hunterdon County , Carol has actively participated in the life of our community. She has been a 4-H leader for the past 8 years, first as a club leader and later teaching workshops, sitting on the Youth Council as treasurer and founding an annual 5-day long service project during the 4-H fair. She has volunteered in the art classroom at Immaculate Conception school, and helped at Country Arch Care Center. As an active contributor to the Pleasant Valley Stitchers , Carol designs and makes crafts which are sold at the Howell Living History Farm, the proceeds of which benefit their educational programs . She is a member of Friends of the Somerset Regional Animal Shelter where she participates in tasks from cleaning cages to fundraising – and will soon be organizing childrens’ activities for this group. In cooperation with Dr. Ross of the Animal Hospital of Clinton – Perryville, Carol makes items for sale (on a donation basis) , funds for which are used to cover those few items not already donated by Dr. Ross. These funds go directly to cover outstanding bills of the Hunterdon Humane Animal Shelter. Last, but definitely not least, Carol is an active member of the county’s 300th committee, where she is learning more about our county’s history every day.
