HOLCOMBE-JIMISON FARMSTEAD MUSEUM OPEN HOUSE

Come and see what has been accomplished at the Farmstead. We have several new items on display; an 1824 hand press printer plus a “Turtle” donated by the Thomas Family of the Hunterdon County Democrat. John Thomas will be demonstrating how these objects were used at the Democrat. Tractors will be on display. A Good Old Fashioned Social will be held at 3pm. Beverages and hand cranked ice cream will be avaialbe. Children can play with some old fashioned toys and make bracelets on a rope machine. Candle Making will be available to all to try.

BUS TOUR AND LUNCH IN HISTORIC BETHLEHEM, PA
Join the Raritan Township Historical Commission for a wonderful deluxe coach bus tour trip to Bethlehem, PA. Historic Bethlehem, PA guides will lead 2 small groups of 15 attendees per group on a walking tour of the old Moravian settlement to see the architecture of many historic buildings. The group will then have a great lunch at the fabulous Hotel Bethlehem which will include a house salad, choice of entree, coffee, tea or iced tea and a special "Chef's Choice" seasonal dessert. Following lunch, everyone will will cross the street and stop at the Moravian Book Store, the oldest bookstore in North America -- so much more than a bookstore -- before boarding the awaiting bus and heading back to Flemington.
Limited to 30 people. Please wear comfortable walking shoes!
All inclusive trip (bus, lunch and guided tour) $75. A cash bar for wine and beer is available during lunch.

Join The 1759 Vought House, in partnership with the NJ Historical Commission, in a day-long conference featuring a keynote by James Gigantino author of The Ragged Road to Abolition: Slavery and Freedom in New Jersey, 1775-1865.
